Les Escletxes and hiking in El Papiol

Just 15km from Barcelona city and just a touch from Collserola, El Papiol is a small municipality in Baix Llobregat located on a mountainous platform that offers panoramic views of the entire region.
The excursion begins in the old town where the Papiol Castle is located, documented since 1115. From there we will go to Les Escletxas, a unique formation of very narrow cracks in the mountain, which originate through the sliding of blocks of fragmented limestone. This is a place frequented by climbers. Going into the interior of the mountain is quite an experience! We will continue the hiking route towards the Ermita de la Salud, a Romanesque hermitage in an excellent state of conservation. We will stop at the nearby 16m high fire watch tower before heading back towards the village. The route is circular and runs between tracks and small paths so characteristic of Collserola.

What to bring: Mountain shoes, water, snack (fruit, sandwich, nuts, etc.) walking sticks if you have them.
