Fundació Mas Miró, Montroig del Camp & visit to Mare de Deu de la Roca hermitage
Montroig the Camp is where Miró’s grandparents had their residency and where Miro got his first artistic inspiration.

Depending on availability we´ll have a guided tour in English or an audio-guide.
You´ll recognize the scenario of many of Miró’s early paintings. We´ll see the atelier where he worked and appreciate the simple country life typical of a masia and its surroundings.
After the cultural visit, we´ll go for a local traditional lunch. The restaurant is located by the hermitage of Mare de Deu de la Roca and it offers beautiful panoramic views of the Camp of Tarragona and the sea.
We´ll walk around eroded red rocks and visit the hermitage before lunch.
Afterwards, and before returning to the city, we´ll stop in the town of Montroig for a short walk to a couple of view point from where Miro painted same of his pieces. We´ll also have the option to buy good local produce, such as “coca de recapte”, olive oil, vegetables or oranges.
Day of the excursion: Friday, April 26st
Minimum group of 7 people and maximum of 15 people.
Distance: the walk is about 5km with an option to not do same of its parts.
