Castell del Burriac, El Maresma

Burriac Castle is located in the Serralada Litoral Park and currently belongs to the Cabrera de Mar City Council. It is located about 400 meters above sea level and was built approximately in the year 1017. From its top you can see a of the best views of the Maresme.

It is a simple route, the only difficulty are some slopes that there are until reaching the top.
The start is in Mataró, where we arrive by RENFE and where we will take the Bus to Argentona.
On the way we will visit the Font Picant: a fountain where carbonated or sparkling water comes out. We continue the route visiting the Font del Mig, the Font del Camí, built in 1999 and the Font del Ferro, which is named for the great concentration of iron that the water contains. Once we visit the fountains, we start the uphill section until we reach Burriac Castle.
At the top we can see what remains of the castle and especially the impressive panoramic view of the Maresme. We will go down to Cabrera de Mar and then to Vilassar de Mar where we will have an aperitif and take the train back.
